Every year Atomic will do tattoos during Tampa Pro and Tampa Am. This year I tattooed on Friday of the Pro contest.
The night before, I stopped by The Bricks in time to watch my friends take home the trophy for this year’s skate trivia. That’s Aaron Austin, Abdias Rivera, Justin Myers, Scotty Conley, and Manny Rodriguez.
Justin took the trophy home for safe keeping.
Friday morning we got straight to it after a quick health department inspection, of course.
Clay was there all weekend helping out with the line and general flow of the day. Thanks big time!
I raffled off an original painting during the day. I think I will do this again next year, too. Frye back there has been killing it lately. She has seen my tattooing all the way from the start and has gotten some fun ones from me. That’s Derrick on the right; he tattoos at our Clearwater beach location.
Wheel n wings for James.
James grabbed a couple of shirts as well. Always good to see y’all.
Grillo’s Pickle tattoo!? Hell yeah! Good to meet you, Amber.
Dilo got a little one.
Beau (left) tattoos at the contests every year. If you’ve been to the contest anytime in the last decade, odds are you’ve met him. Chaz (right) has just started tattooing himself and had a photo show later in the night at The Bricks.
My favorite part of the day is when my wife, Julie, brings lunch for me. Love you soo much babe.
It was good catching up, Chris.
A couple of tattoos for Julian before he destroyed the contest.
Recognize that leg from the last blog post? That’s my leg on the left and Lucas on the right from our trade.
Added some teeth next to this Georgia Gator I did for Zeke.
One more. Possibly my favorite of the day.
Jeff Grosso Tat to round off Friday’s tattooing.
Frye drew the winner for the painting raffle.
Congrats to Dilo on winning this thing.
Fun times as always. Good working with y’all. Now time to break down and head over to see some of Chaz’s work.
Skate spot? Photo op? Depends who you ask I guess. Jorge trying to play photographer for the ladies Devin, Colby, and Julie.
A couple of healed tats from Swampfest outside of The Bricks.
A picture of pictures of photographs. People checking some never before seen photos of some legendary skaters.
Happy Birthday, Scotty! Road Crew!
Jorge had multiple clients in the show and probably at the show as well.
It was a night full of familiar faces and good friends but I’ve got an early flight to catch tomorrow so I ended the night with this photo. That’s Ian, Derrick, and the man of the hour, Chaz. Three solid fellas if I do say so myself.
My wife and I took an early morning flight up to NY to visit some museums, eat some food, and get tattooed. That’s the federal reserve building on the left where they keep all the $$$.
Headed to lunch with Nate while watching his brother, Jake, skate the Pro back in Tampa. Jake, you killed it!
The next day I went to DareDevil Tattoo. The owner Brad Fink has a personal collection of New York’s tattoo history that is unreal. Too much to capture in this post. You will just have to stop by for yourself.
I got a classic hot stuff from Shane Nesmith. Shane used to work in Atlanta at Southern Star and I’m sure we have a slew of mutual friends.
I also got tattooed by Chris, he made this sharp butterfly for me. He’s a clean tattooer with some awesome designs.
When you visit, be sure to schedule a tour with Michelle to get an even deeper dive into the world of New York tattooing.
Quick ferry trip for some pizza.
The Met was mind blowing. Most impressive museum I’ve ever been to. Make sure you have at least a full day.
One last meal at Delmonico’s steak house with Nate and Ashley.
We got back to Tampa just to round up some more friends and have another steak dinner. Thanks to everyone for making this birthday a memorable one.
